FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions businesses ask most about DueSure.

01What is DueSure?

DueSure is an online platform that helps Nigerian businesses check who they are dealing with. You enter a customer’s details, and we help you validate their identity, screen them for risk, and keep a record of the check.

02Who is DueSure for?

It’s built for Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs). These include real estate developers, agents and brokers, estate surveyors and valuers, jewellers, car dealers, casinos and gaming operators, hospitality businesses, NGOs and non-profits, and any other business or profession that needs support.

03What can I check on a customer?

A search can include identity document validation and screening against sanctions lists, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) records and adverse media. Each search produces a record you can save.

04Why do I need to check my customers?

Under Nigerian anti-money laundering law, DNFBPs are expected to know their customers and keep records of the checks they carry out. DueSure helps you do this in one place instead of keeping paper files and spreadsheets.

05How do I get started?

Click “Get started”, register your business, and add your team. You can run your first search once your account is set up.

06Is my customers’ information safe?

We take data protection seriously and operate under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Data is encrypted, access is protected by multi-factor login, and every action is recorded in an audit trail. We do not store raw identification numbers. For details, read our Privacy Policy and Data Protection Policy.

07What is a DueSure certificate, and how can I confirm one is real?

A DueSure certificate is a record issued after a check. Anyone can confirm it is genuine by entering the certificate number and security code on our Verify page, or by scanning the QR code on the certificate.

08Does DueSure guarantee regulatory compliance?

No technology provider can determine every legal obligation for every organisation. DueSure provides configurable identity verification, screening integration, workflow and audit capabilities that help compliance teams implement and evidence their KYC policies. Customers remain responsible for their regulatory interpretation and final decisions.
